Why Oaxaca?
Paulina's family is from Mexico so we always knew we wanted to get married there. We bonded over our love for Oaxacan food and mezcal early in our relationship, so we knew there was no better place to share a unique, memorable, and truly Mexican experience with all of our friends and family. We even recreated a Oaxacan rooftop in San Francisco, where Jose cooked food for our friends (evidence below).
Are children welcome to the wedding events?
While we love your little ones, please note that our wedding will be adults only! If you need a babysitter, let us know in advance and our wedding planner can provide recommendations.
Where can I find wedding weekend details?
Check out the 'Itinerary' page for all the wedding details - this includes event locations, day/time, and dress code.
When should I arrive in Oaxaca?
The wedding is on Saturday, February 21st. We will have a Calenda (street parade) and Welcome Cocktail for all guests on Friday evening. We recommend arriving no later than Friday morning to participate in all wedding events.
What's the weather like in Oaxaca?
February is one of the 'coolest' months in Oaxaca with evening temperatures dropping in the 50s. During the day, it is very warm and can get up to the low 80s.
Where else should I travel in Mexico if I want to extend my trip?
MEXICO CITY: If you have not yet visited, we can't recommend it enough! Many flights from the US require that you connect in Mexico City.
THE OAXACAN COAST: Puerto Escondido and Huatulco are beautiful, Pacific Ocean beach towns that are less mainstream.
OTHER: You can fly directly to places like Cancun or Merida or connect in Mexico City to reach other Mexican destinations.
